Hello all! I’ve launched the artist trading cards (ATCs) spring exchange with a deadline of March 22, 2016. It would be great to have anyone interested in the exchange get creative and participate for this round!
Artist trading cards are small works of art that can be traded with other artists as a way to get creative, connect with other artists, and collect great art! Make 9 handmade cards and get 9 back by mail after deadline, and it’s free to participate except for return postage to send your cards back to you. I have been running this by-mail exchange for over four years, and I welcome new participants. The trade has many new and repeat participants from the US, Canada, and some international destinations, and it’s always a fun mix of styles and mediums.
Topic, subject matter, and materials for cards are open, as long as they implement something handmade and fit on the card and into a plastic sleeve. In the past I’ve had collaged, stamped, drawn, painted, digital mixed with handdrawn, fabric/sewing, plastic, yarn, and all sorts of combinations of these. As long as you can fit it in the plastic sleeve and it can go through the mail, anything goes.
Here are some samples of a few different cards from past exchanges:
Please go here for more information and follow the instructions on the page to participate: http://jenniferhinesart.wordpress.com/artist-trading-cards/
The next deadlines are March 22, 2016 and August 23, 2016. Exchanges happen 2-3 times a year.
Feel free to spread the word and pass this along! Have a creative new year!
